Abstract Data

Jeff Peevy, 41 years old, a pioneer resident of Picher, died at 1:55 o'clock this morning at his home, 618 North Netta Street. Death was due to influenza meningitis and followed an illness of 12 days. Mr. Peevy had lived in Picher the last 16 years. He was employed as a ground foreman by the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company for 12 years, being last employed at the Goodwin Mine. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Norma Peevy, a daughter, Thelma Peevy, at home; two brothers, Alvis Peevy of McAlester Oklahoma and Willie Peevy of Picher; and four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle McCombs and Mrs. Clara Smith, of Tulsa Oklahoma and Mrs. Lula Smith and Mrs. Viola Mitchell, of Picher. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The officiating clergyman will be the Rev. John Linn of Miami. The funeral will be under the direction of the Porter Clark undertaking company of Galena Kansas.
