A long time resident of Oklahoma, died Friday at the Miami hospital where he had been a patient since August 30th . He lived at 605 East E Street, Commerce Oklahoma ...he was a retired miner and farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Inez Payton, of the home; seven sons, J. Alvin Payton of Fort Myers Florida, Lloyd Gale Payton of Brooklyn Wisconsin, Bobby D. Payton of Fort Greeley Alaska, Freddie I. Payton and Frankie Payton, both of Kansas City Kansas, Richard Wayne Payton of Fort Jackson South Carolina, and Charles Ray Payton of Miami; four daughters, Mrs. Norma Marshall of Picher Oklahoma, Mrs. Pat Frost of Cherokee Kansas, Mrs. Freda Mae Moore of Del City Oklahoma, and Mrs. Rita Gay Hallett of Miami; two sister, Mrs. Stella Monroe and Mrs. Beulah Green, both of Tulsa Oklahoma; 44 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
