Baxter Springs Kansas Mar 26 Guy Oney, 36 years old, a watchman at the Race Track Mine in the northwest part of Baxter Springs, was instantly killed and three other persons were seriously injured when two cars collided head-on in front of the Blue Mound Kansas church, three miles west of Baxter Springs on highway 166, at 12:30 o'clock this morning. William Coast, an employee of the Price Motor Company of Baxter Springs, suffered a broken left leg, between the ankle and knee and was badly cut and bruised. Dale Wilson, an employee of the Elmore Motor Company of Columbus Kansas, received bad cuts on the left leg and on the right eye and was badly bruised. Miss Alma Shamblin of North Century Oklahoma, suffered a broken collar bone and a broken hand. All three were taken to the Picher hospital in Picher Oklahoma, in an ambulance of the Todd undertaking company of Picher.

Guy Oney, 35 years old, a watchman at the Race Track Mine, northwest of Baxter Springs, was killed and three persons were injured in a head-on motor car collision on highway 166, three miles west of Baxter Springs, at 12:15 o'clock this morning. Oney was dead when Todd ambulance attendants reached his body which had rolled clear of the wrecked car he was driving. He is believed to have been killed instantly. The top of his head was crushed. Miss Alma Shamblin of North Century Oklahoma, who was riding with Oney, received a hand fracture and a broken collar bone. Dale Wilson of Columbus and William Coats of Baxter Springs were in the other car. Coats' left leg was broken above the ankle and he suffered lacerations to the head and face. He is a bookkeeper for the Price Motor Company at Baxter Springs. Wilson, who was driving a 1934 model sedan owned by the Elmore Motor Company of Columbus, received lacerations to his head and left knee. The three injured persons were removed to Picher hospital. Wilson was released a few hours later. Oney is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ora Oney; four sons, Guy Oney, Jr., 10 years old; Charles Lee Oney, 9, Ralph Oney, 7, and Ray Gene Oney, 3; his mother, Mrs. Maude Roundtree of Joplin Missouri; a sister, Beulah Oney, whose address is not known, and a stepsister, Bonnie Mae Roundtree of Kansas City. Funeral plans are incomplete. The body is at Todd's morgue.

Funeral services are at 2:00 at the Fifth Street mission, with the Rev. W. O. Singletary of Galena Kansas will officiate. Burial was in the Baxter Springs cemetery.
