Newton, Wilbur "Burnie"

Word was received at Picher Oklahoma yesterday of the death of Wilbur "Burnie" Newton, 37 years old, of Webb City, and a member of the IOOF lodge of Picher. Mr. Newton died yesterday morning at the tuberculosis sanitarium at Webb City, after a long illness. Mr. Newton was well known throughout the Picher district, having worked in the mines for some time. Members of the IOOF lodge of Picher are requested to meet at the lodge hall at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon to leave in a body for Webb City to attend the funeral, which will be held at 3 o'clock. Mr. Newton also was a member of the Knights of Pythia lodge and America Legion. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
