The body of a 51 year old Picher Oklahoma miner was found in a hotel room, at 409 South Connell Avenue, Picher, Monday morning, death from apparent heart attack. The dead man is Charles Edwin Myers, who had been employed as a hoisterman by the W. M. and W. Mining Company. Mrs. Maude Acree discovered the body in Myers' room when she became suspicious upon noticing a "foul odor" coming form the man's room. Fully clothed, Myers' body was on the floor and against the door to the hallway when Mrs. Acree entered... the body was badly putrefied." Myers' home was at 101 South Ethel Street, Picher, but he roomed at the hotel during bad weather. He was born Mar 15, 1896. Survivors include a brother, J. W. Myers of Chicago Illinois and a sister, Mrs. Harry Randolph of El Centro California. Funeral services where held Tuesday afternoon at 1 pm at the graveside in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami Oklahoma. Pallbearers were fellow workers of Myers at the mine. The Thomas funeral home was in charge.
