Wayland Munson, 72, 1801 B northeast, died Saturday at 4:50 pm in St. John's hospital, Joplin Missouri, after a brief illness. He was born Aug 7, 1901, in Van Buren Arkansas, and had lived in this area most of his life. A retired farmer and miner, he worked for the Eagle-Picher Company, until 1953. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Miami. His wife, Mrs. Mabel Munson, died Aug 23, 1971. He is survived by two sons, Leonard Munson, Miami, and CWO-R Elbert Munson, Ft. Richardson Alaska; five daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Davis, Grants New Mexico, Mrs. Rosa Lee Brewster and Mrs. Bonnie Hollandsworth, both of Miami, Mrs. Patricia Rankins, Davis Oklahoma, and Mrs. Betty Young, Seneca Missouri Route 2; one brother, Gene Munson, Stillwater Oklahoma, and one sister Mrs. Eva Pooler, Miami; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Cooper funeral home of Miami.
