63 years old, was found dead from a self-inflected gunshot wound at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon at his home in North Century, south of Picher Oklahoma according to Ottawa county Oklahoma authorities...Moudy's body was found about 15 feet north of his home by a son, Russell Moudy of Commerce Oklahoma. Russell Moudy had been summoned by his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Moudy, from the nearby MacArthur Mine. Mrs. Moudy became worried after she failed to find her husband in the house, Burns said. The county attorney said Moudy had used a .16 gauge single barrel shotgun, which was found near the body. Moudy, who had been seriously ill six months, had been a mine hoisterman 35 years. He had resided in this area 34 years. Other survivors are another son the Rev. Henry Moudy of Commerce; a sister, Mrs. Eva Spoon of Webb City Missouri, six grandchildren and a nephew. Burial was in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami Oklahoma under the direction of the Goodson funeral home of Picher. Pallbearers chosen were Al Fowler, Tom Tuttle, Harold Holt and Bill Holt, Lester Bagsby and Albert Hall.
