Thomas Moreland died at his home in Galena, Friday night after a long illness. Moreland was a well known miner. Before his illness forced him to retire from work, he was employed as general ground foreman at the Skelton Mining Company. Funeral services were held at his home Sunday afternoon and burial was at Galena. Several from North Century attended the services.

Funeral services for Billy Marie Moreland, 2 years old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Moreland, residing in the west part of Picher, who died yesterday morning of membranous croup, were held at the family home at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. W. O. Bucy, pastor of the Central Methodist church, officiated. Burial was in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami under the direction of the Todd undertaking company, Picher. Note: Not certain if this item goes with Thomas Moreland. The child died after the date of the death of the previous items about Moreland.

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Burris Ladd, formerly of North Century, and Mrs. Lydia Moreland of Galena. The marriage took place Saturday in Miami. Mrs. A. P. Cameron performed the ceremony. The bridegroom is well known in this vicinity, having been employed in the mines several years. The bride is the widow of the late Thomas Moreland, who before his death was connected with the Skelton Mining company. The couple left immediately following the ceremony for a visit with Mr. Ladd's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Ladd, in Vinita Oklahoma. They will probably reside in Galena.
