Word was received Tuesday, by Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mills of Welch Oklahoma, that their son, Dempsey Mills, who was serving with the armed forces, was killed in action in Italy at a recent date not stated. Dempsey and his brother, Billy Mills, have been in foreign service for some time, and their many friends in Welch are extending their sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mills in their loss.

Sgt. Dempsey Mills, fighting in France, died from wounds received in action Jul 30, a telegram received recently by his wife, Leona Mills of Eucha Oklahoma said. The 21 year old Mills entered the service Dec 3, 1942, and had been overseas approximately seven months. Before his soldiering days he was employed by the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company. Dempsey was married to Leona Dykes Aug 29, 1942. Besides his wife, he is survived by a small son, Mikale Mills of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mills of Welch; three brothers, Bobby Mills of the home, Billy Mills, somewhere in India, and Floyd Mills, Jr. of Welch; five sisters, Dorothy Mills and Colleen Mills of the home, Mrs. Harold Wolfe and Mrs. Austin Harvey of Miami and Mrs. Melvin Baker of Springfield, Colorado.
