McMullin, Henry
Abstract Data
Reports were brought to Miami this week concerning a good strike of lead ore on the Henry McMullin land, three miles south and one-fourth mile west of Ottawa Oklahoma. It is stated that Mr. McMullin was digging a well and that at a depth of 35 feet the drill went into a very hard substance. The driller washed out several shovelfuls of the rock and being an experienced driller in the lead and zinc field, stated that it look like "mighty good stuff," it continued down to a depth of 60 feet. The work was brought in by L. W. Pratt who owns an adjoining farm. He stated that his information was from Mr. McMullin, who stated that several parties had been to see the cuttings and it was thought that he had good prospects. Mr. McMullin was drilling for water and stopped at 60 feet in depth.
