Cecil F. McIrvin, of Picher, died Nov 13, 1948, age 48, at 3:33 o'clock Saturday afternoon, after a lingering illness of approximately two months. He became ill in September. Mr. McIrvin came to Picher 33 years ago, in 1915 and for many years was employed by the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company, but in more recent years had been employed as a mechanic at the Goodrich Rubber plant near Miami Oklahoma. ..His home was at 317 South Emily Street. He had also saved on the Picher city council. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mabel McIrvin, who formerly assisted in the Picher post- office for many months during the war; a step-son, Ernest Allan Courington of Sand Springs Oklahoma, two brothers Kenneth McIrvin of Hollywood California and Burnett McIrvin of Glendale California; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Watson of Oak Creek Colorado, Mrs. Edna Stineman of Hood River Oregon, and Mrs. Ora Stokes of Santa Monica California. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon...Interment will be in Hillcrest cemetery at Galena Kansas under direction of the Goodson-Durnil funeral home. Masonic rites will be conducted at the graveside. Honorary pallbearers were Goodrich employees. Pallbearers were deacons of the Baptist church, Carl Garrett, Ed Reece, Ed Wilson, Fred Osgood, F. F. Smithson, Dale Buck, Bill Wolsey, and Floyd Newberry...
