A man working in the ground at the White Lease Mine between Picher Oklahoma and Quapaw Oklahoma, was taken sick about three o'clock today, and was put in the tub with a companion to be hoisted to the top, but died in the tub/can while about half way up. The man's name was not learned. It is though heart trouble was the immediate cause of death.

Bert McDonald of Golden City Missouri, was the young man who became ill with heart trouble in the White Lease Mine at Picher late Thursday afternoon and died in a tub while being brought out of the mine. He was found unconscious by a miner. He is a son of J. F. McDonald of Golden City, 28 years old and married. A wife, and two children survive him. The body was sent to Golden City today for burial by the Hocker undertaking company of Picher.
