65 years old, 338 South Treece Street, Picher Oklahoma, died at 9 this morning. Mr. McDermott, who was manager of the jig mill at the Vantage Mine, was at his work in the Vantage Mill when he was stricken. He was carried by fellow workmen to his home near the mine and the Green undertaking company summoned with the Pulmotor, which, however, they used unsuccessfully. Death was caused by heart trouble. He had left his home for the mine at the usual time, apparently in good health, having eaten, a hearty breakfast as usual. Mr. McDermott had been for many years connected with the Vantage Mine. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Augusta McDermott, and two sons, Frank McDermott and George McDermott, and one grandson, John R. McDermott, all living in Picher. The body is at the Green undertaking rooms awaiting the completion of funeral arrangements.

The funeral of John McDermitt, who died unexpectedly Saturday while at his work at the Vantage Mill, will be at 10 Tuesday morning at the family home, 338 South Treece Street. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Webb City Missouri, under direction of the Green undertaking company.
