McCullough, Joseph Benjamin


Abstract Data

62, pioneer driller of the Picher Oklahoma field, who at one time was a partner of the late J. W. Barnes, died at 12:30 Wednesday afternoon at his home, 2025 Military avenue, in Baxter Springs Kansas, following a brief illness. Mr. McCullough, who had lived in Baxter Springs and Picher for the last 35 years, came with his parents to Hallowell Kansas, in a covered wagon when a small boy. He was born in Toledo Ohio. Mr. McCullough was a member of the Pentecost church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elsie McCullough; three sons, William B. McCullough of Baxter Spring, and Raymond E. McCullough of Kansas City Missouri; one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Ingle of Baxter Springs, and three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Durnil funeral home, Picher.
