80 year old former Picher Oklahoma high school janitor and resident of the area for the last 33 years, died at his home, 723 West A Street, at 3 p.m. Saturday. He had been in ill health since last July. Moving to the Picher community in 1917, McBride worked as a lead and zinc miner for many years. He was employed as janitor at the high school from 1923 until 1941. A member of the Union church, McBride is survived by a sister, Mrs. Maggie Riley of Picher; a grandson, William Homer Miller, Camp Sherman Oregon; a granddaughter, Mrs. Peggy June Green, and three great-grandsons, Richard Roy Green, Jackie Chester Green and David Green, all of Picher. Arrangements for services and burial will be announced by the Roberson-Hunter funeral home.

Funeral services for Homer McBride, 80 year old former Picher high school janitor who died at his home, Saturday, will be conducted at the Union church in Picher at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Henry Ford will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. J. H. Mott. A short service will be held at the grave in the Dudman cemetery, northwest of Sarcoxie Missouri. Pallbearers will be Bert Nance, Dude Rowe, Francis Williams, Guy Pierce, Harold Jones and Ed Carson. Burial will be under direction of the Roberson-Hunter funeral home. The body will lie in state at the funeral home chapel until the funeral hour.
