35, of North Miami Oklahoma, a brother of H. B. McBee of Miami, died late Tuesday night in the Miami Baptist hospital within a short while after being brought from his home. Death was due to pneumonia. He leaves a wife, and three children. James McBee grew up in Ottawa county Oklahoma, and engaged in mining until the World War. He enlisted July 11, 1918 at Joplin. He was attached to D company of the 27th engineers. He took a part in the Meuse Argonne offensive, from October 22 until November 11 when the armistice was declared. He was also in the St. Mihiel offensive. He was discharged April 4, 1919. McBee's physical condition since his discharge has not allowed him to work. His lungs were affected by gas. For the past two weeks he has been ill. Tuesday evening his condition became worse and he was removed to the hospital, but too late to receive the proper attention afforded by the hospital. Frank McBee, a brother was killed in the Spanish-American War. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 at the home in North Miami. The Reverend Thomas D. New of Commerce will officiate. The American Legion posts of Commerce and Miami will have charge of the services at the grave.

The funeral services of James Elsworth McBee, 35, of North Miami, were held from the home this afternoon at 3. The Reverend Thomas D. New of Commerce officiated. Members of the American Legion posts of Commerce and Miami held short military services at the grave in the G.A.R. cemetery, Miami.
