Funeral services for Charley A. McBee, long-time resident of Ottawa county Oklahoma who died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday at his home in east Commerce Oklahoma, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Commerce First Baptist church. He was 71 years old. McBee is survived by his wife, Ellen McBee; two sons, Harold McBee of Columbus Kansas, and Charles McBee of Commerce; six daughters, Mrs. Bessie Van Horn of Carthage Missouri; Mrs. Blanche Sizemore of Valier Montana; Mrs. Sylvia Bingham of Quapaw; Mrs. Grace Broyles of Miami; Mrs. Emma Broyles of Commerce and Mrs. Hazel Sandidge of Tulsa Oklahoma; a brother, Hiram R. McBee of Miami, and his stepmother, Mrs. Kate McBee of Commerce. The county pioneer had resided in this district for 50 years, the last 28 of which were spent at Commerce. He had been engaged in farming and as a teamster. The Rev. Grover J. Scales will officiate at the funeral rites. Burial will be in Baxter Springs Kansas cemetery under direction of the Mitchelson funeral home.
