a 53 year old miner died at 6 o'clock Friday evening at his home in Cardin Oklahoma, following a long illness. He had lived in the district 35 years and helped sink the first shaft in the Cardin Oklahoma field. Survivors include his widow Mrs. Marie Marshall of the home; and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Flournoy of Cardin and Mrs. Lucille Bross of Roscoe California. He was a veteran of World War I. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Goodson-Durnil funeral home.
