70, Anderson Missouri, died at 10 am Thursday, Nov 12, 1998, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin Missouri, after a long illness. Mr. Mahurin was born Jan 15, 1928, in the Cyclone community in McDonald county Missouri. He was a lifetime area resident. He worked in the lead and zinc mines, and for Ross Industries, Wichita Kansas. He retired in 1993 from American Family homes, Anderson. He also was a cattle farmer. He was a member of Tracy Community church, where he served on the board of trustees. He married Louise Gideon on Dec 24, 1948, at Miami Oklahoma. She survives. Additional survivors include a daughter, Barbara Mahurin, of the home; and son, Dean Mahurin, Wichita Kansas. Graveside services will be at 2 pm Sunday at Tracy cemetery. Raymond Booth, minister, will officiate. Pallbearers will be Clyde Gideon, Clifford Gideon, Donnie Gideon, Oddie Gideon, Kenneth Gideon, Kenneth Gideon, Arthur Gideon, Lawrence Myers and Darrell Kern. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm today at Clark funeral home, Neosho Missouri. Contributions may be made to Tracy Community Church, in care of the funeral home.
