73, 403 Elm Street, Commerce Oklahoma, died at 1:05 am Saturday, Oct 10, 1998, at Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami, after an illness. Mr. Madison was born May 18, 1925, at McCune Kansas. He had lived in Quapaw Oklahoma the past 35 years, moving from Picher Oklahoma. He worked as a lead and zinc miner, and later as an upholsterer for Bayliner Marine, Miami, until his retirement in 1990. He married Mildred G. Fanning on Jan 28, 1945, at Girard Kansas. She survives. Additional survivors include a son, Gary Madison, Quapaw; two daughters, Velma Turner, Commerce, and Sandi Madison, of the home; a grandson he raised, Dustin Madison, of the home; three sisters, Betty Serra, Pittsburg Kansas, Virginia Potocnik, Cherokee Kansas, and Hazel Altum Arkansas City Kansas; a stepsister Peggy Rhoades, Picher; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 pm Monday at Picher. The Rev. Ellen Herren and the Rev. Gary Rhoades will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Galena Kansas. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas funeral home, Picher.
