Funeral arrangements were incomplete today for Jesse J. Madden, early-day lead and zinc miner who died at his home Monday afternoon following a long illness. A resident of the Picher Oklahoma area for the past 37 years, Madden, 71, was a member of the First Christian church in Picher. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maude Madden of the home; a son, Jesse Lee Madden, Picher; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Judge, San Diego California; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Jones and Mrs. May Brittenham, both of Joplin Missouri; a half-sister, Mrs. Gertrude Church, Baxter Springs Kansas; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Lillie Perkins, Hood River Oregon, seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The body was received by the Hunter funeral home of Picher.

Funeral services for Jesse J. Madden, 71 year old retired lead and zinc miner who died at his home in Zincville Oklahoma, Monday, will be conducted in the Zincville Community church at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. John Seward, pastor of the Christian church, Picher, will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. Leslie Couch, pastor of the Baptist church, Cardin Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Tom Lake, John Miller, Milo Huffman, Ellis Gonce, Bruce Mangum and Jack Shipman. Burial will be in the Osborne Memorial cemetery at Joplin under direction of the Hunter funeral home of Picher. Article includes a photo.
