Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at Harvey's chapel in Baxter Springs Kansas for William M. Lewis, 66 years old, who died at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon at his home, 1229 East Avenue, in Baxter Springs. The body will be sent to Grinnell Iowa, for burial. Pallbearers were Robert Barnes, Archie Chubb, Dick Scott, Earl Vaught, S. H. Haley and James Kirk. Mr. Lewis, who had been a resident of Baxter Springs for 22 years, was engaged in drilling as long as his health permitted. He had been unable to work for the last 18 months. He was born in Iowa. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mamie Lewis, one daughter, Mrs. Alma Pebworth of Colgate Oklahoma; one son Don Lewis of Baxter Springs, and two brothers, Ray Lewis and Fred Lewis, both of Iowa.
