Lewis, retired mining engineer, died this morning following a long illness. He was admitted to the hospital Thursday. He resided 229 South Main, Commerce Oklahoma. He was a native of Missouri and moved to Picher Oklahoma in 1915, and to Commerce in 1926. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elsie Lewis; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby White and Mrs. Ann Pottorf of Commerce, Mrs. Goldie Williams, Miami, and Mrs. Sarah Cole, North Miami Oklahoma; a son, Johnny Lewis, Kerrville Texas; six brothers, C. A. Lewis of Wyandotte Oklahoma, J. A. Lewis of Sedalia Missouri, J. T. Lewis of Lamar Missouri, G. I. Lewis, Miami, S. B. Lewis, Grants Pass Oregon, and W. H. Lewis, Miami; a sister, Mrs. Dolly Peck, Turlock California; a grandson Johnny Wayne Lewis, of the Commerce home; a granddaughter, Mrs. Carol Lynch, Edmond, and four great-grandchildren.
