veteran Tri-State district mining operator, died at his home at 7:45 o'clock this morning following a six-day illness. He was 69 years old. One of the oldest active mining men in the district, Lennan had been connected with mining activities in Missouri-Kansas and Oklahoma for the past 47 years. He had lived in Joplin Missouri since 1899, where he had moved after graduating from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The pioneer mining man was associated in the company that opened the King Jack Mine at Commerce Oklahoma, which was one of the first mines in the Oklahoma field. He also operated mines at Webb City Missouri, Carterville Missouri, Duenweg Missouri and other areas in the district during his lifetime. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary is in charge.
