Funeral services for Charles E. Layton, 79 year old retired Picher Oklahoma miner, will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Goodson-Durnil chapel, Picher. The Rev. Boyd Tucker will officiate. Layton died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at his home, 214 Trail's End, in Picher. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami.

Charles E. Layton died Tuesday morning at 10:30 at his home, 214 Trails End. He was a miner and was 79 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eva Lena Layton; two daughters, Mrs. Cecil Gilly of Picher, and Mrs. George Scroles of Miami and one son, Ted Layton of Kansas City. Funeral services will be in charge of the Goodson-Durnil funeral home.
