age 51 years old, died at 3:45 am Sunday at his home on West Twelfth Street, Picher Oklahoma. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Layne; a son, Bobby Layne; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel McIlroy of Husum Washington, and Mrs. Cecil Arnold of Lamar Colorado. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday at the First Methodist church in Picher. The Rev. D. W. Brashear, pastor of the First Methodist church at Cleveland Oklahoma will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, with the Durnil funeral home, Picher, in charge. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Budine, Bob Gaul, George L. Luccas, Jim Davis, Jack Cardwell and Larry Hinds. Honorary pallbearers will be Claude Jones, Eph Niday, Lewis Myers, Floyd Scott, Rusty Bullock and Johnny Homes. The body will lie in state at the Durnil funeral home until the hour of the funeral. Layne had been an electrician for the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company for several years. He was born Sep 13, 1887, at Cassville Missouri. He was married to Miss Maude Aiken, Oct 12, 1926.
