Among the Tri-State mining men to attend the meeting of the western division of the American Mining congress in Denver Colorado are: W. O. Goodwin, W. T. Landrum, F. S. Elfred and S. H. Davis of Baxter Springs.

of the Cortez-King Brand Mine Company was elected chairman of the Baxter Springs Kansas, chapter of the American Red Cross at a meeting last week in that city. Landrum succeeds the late Frank G. Willis as Red Cross chairman there. Willis was a mining engineer. Loyd Youse was elected vice-chairman of the Baxter Springs chapter at the same meeting. It seem that when the Red Cross in this district wants a job done well, a mining man is always selected.
