71 years old, died at 12:30 pm today at his home, 1935 Lincoln avenue, Baxter, following a four month illness. Death was attributed to a cerebral clot. As a young man he lived near Carthage Missouri. He had been in the Tri-State district for 25 years. For several years he operated a blacksmith shop at Hockerville Oklahoma and the last seven to eight years he had resided in Baxter Springs Kansas. He was married to Martha E. Church in 1924. He is survived by his wife; one brother, John Landers of Boulder Colorado; one sister, Mrs. Addie Kyte of Carthage, and a nephew, Charles Kyte, also of Carthage. Arch Landers of Miami is a cousin. The Clark undertaking company of Galena Kansas will be in charge. The body will be cremated.
