The condition of a prominent Tri-State district hard rock lead and zinc mine operator who suffered a heart attack Tuesday remained very serious today but a Midriff police officer, victim of a similar seizure, was improving at the local Baptist hospital. The victims are Tom Kiser, independent ore producer from Treece Kansas, and police Lieut. Arley Gailey. Mrs. Kiser said her husband's condition was unchanged this morning at Picher hospital at Picher Oklahoma. Kiser, 42, was stricken Tuesday at the Wee-sah Mine he operates north of the Cardin Oklahoma power plant. Lieutenant Gailey became ill while on duty early yesterday afternoon. He was driving a patrol car at the time but managed to reach his home at 222 H Street southeast, at Miami. Mrs. Gailey summoned a doctor and the patient later was taken to the hospital. Gailey is about 50.
