During the period he was engaged in this business he purchased thousands of horses which were sent to Europe. Mr. and Mrs. Kent came to Miami about three years ago. Mr. Kent was interested in the Big Ben Mining Company and other properties. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. His widow and two daughters, each married and living in Washington, survive.
