75, Joplin Missouri, died at 10 am Thursday, Feb 18, 1999, at his home. Mr. Kennedy was born May 31, 1923, at Picher Oklahoma. He was a lifelong resident of Joplin. He worked as a hard rock lead and zinc miner in the mining fields of Picher. He retired from Eagle-Picher Company in 1970. He also worked for Phoenix and Scission of Tulsa Oklahoma until 1975. Mr. Kennedy was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the 82nd Airborne in Europe. He was a member of the Villa Heights Christian church, VFW Post and the American Legion Post No. 13, in Joplin. Mr. Kennedy coached Colt League Youth Baseball for seven years. He married Edna Lloyd of Joplin, Jan 20, 1947. She died Sep 15, 1951. Survivors include two sons; Harold C. Kennedy, Jr. of Conrow Texas, and Ron Kennedy of Aurora Missouri, a sister Maxine Lacy of Norwalk, California; three grandsons, Wesley Kennedy and Curtis Kennedy of Joplin and Eric Kennedy of Tulsa Oklahoma; a granddaughter, Tricia Angelopoulos of Joplin. There are three great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. Rev. Chet Shaw will officiate. Burial will be in the Osborne Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers will be Curtis Kennedy, Eric Kennedy, Wesley Kennedy, Bill Wetherell, Ted Owens, and Terry Clarkson.
