Picher Oklahoma. John R. Jordan, 51 years old, a pioneer hard rock lead and zinc miner of Picher, was found dead in bed in his room at a rooming house operated by Henry Austin, 100 South Picher Street, Picher, at 5:30 o'clock this morning. Death was due to a hemorrhage of the lungs and was reported to have occurred shortly before Mr. Jordan's death was discovered by attendants at the rooming house. Mr. Jordan had worked for the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company here 18 years, being employed most of the time as a shoveler. He had been employed for some time as a watchman at the Bendelari Mine. He has been in poor health the last three years. Surviving relatives include a sister, Mrs. W. S. Summer of Toulan Georgia, a brother living in Chicago Illinois. The body will be prepared for burial by the Todd undertaking company and shipped to Toulan for burial.
