Miami, died Thursday, Aug 17, 2000, at Integris Baptist regional Health Center, Miami, after an illness. He was 90. Mr. Jones was born Sep 13, 1909, at Fairland Oklahoma, to Leroy Aires Jones and Rosetta Carey Jones. He lived in Ottawa county Oklahoma all of his life. He was a miner for Eagle-Picher Company for 20 years and then was employed with the Miami water department for 16 years. An avid baseball fan, he and his wife were especially supportive of the Atlanta Braves. He married Nora Lee Snowden on May 7, 1932, at Fairland. She preceded him in death on Mar 22, 2000. He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry L. Jones. Survivors include a son, Carl E. Jones, Tulsa Oklahoma; three daughters, Elsie Presley and Faye Davis, both of Sand Springs Oklahoma, and Bonnie Kinkead, Grove Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 16 great- grand children, and three great-great-grandchildren. The service is 2 pm Saturday, at the Paul Thomas funeral home, Miami, with the Rev. Dan Shackelford officiating. Burial is in Sulphur Bend cemetery, south of Fairland. Pallbearers are Mr. Jones' grandsons, Michael Davis, Norman Davis, Mark Jones, Brian Cowan, Randy Presley, Steve Smith, Richard Rowe, and Chris Parks.
