48, of 428 South Emily Street, Picher Oklahoma, died Tuesday at 11:45 at the Miami Baptist hospital where he had been a patient for two days. Born Feb 20, 1927, at Carterville Missouri, he had been a Picher resident most of his life, moving there from Tulsa Oklahoma. Jones was an Army veteran of World War II, formerly worked in oil fields and mines. He had been ill the past year. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ann Jones, of the home, four sons, Preston Leroy Sims, Houston Texas; Johnny I. Jones, Billy Joe Jones, all of the home, his six daughters, Sandra Kay Carmack, Dallas Texas, Patricia L. Sims, Houston Texas, Anna Maybelle Craig, Picher, Ethel Irene Jones, Myrtle I. Jones, all of the home and Charlotte C. Jones, two sisters Mrs. Ethel Meurer, Tulsa, and Mrs. Opal Clinton of Atlantic Beach Florida, and three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Paul Thomas funeral home.

Services for Luther Clyde Jones, 48, Picher, who died Tuesday will be held at 2 pm in the Paul Thomas funeral chapel, Picher, with the Rev. Ralph Chewning officiating. Burial will be in the Baxter Springs Kansas veterans area of the Baxter Springs cemetery. Pallbearer will be Leroy Wren, Harold D. Archer, Fred Shipman, Gene Owens, Joe Redden and Gary Dardeene.
