president of the Blue Mound Mining Company, located north of Picher Oklahoma, is president and treasurer of the Ontario Smelting Company, and Miss Catherine Scott, secretary, Frank E. Maulson and associates of Toronto Canada, hold about one-half the stock in the new company. Ground was broken Monday for the 600 ton smelter to be erected by the Ontario Smelting Company near Quapaw Oklahoma. After considerable delay the company secured a 40 acre tract by purchasing the mineral rights of the land. The Ontario will have a 600 lead tons capacity. It will have five furnaces instead of four, which is larger than the Eagle-Picher Company plant at Galena Kansas.
