Baxter Springs Kansas, Robert Lee Johnson, 68 years old, died at 11:15 o'clock Friday night at the home of his son, Claude Johnson, 527 East Seventeenth Street, after an illness of six years. Mr. Johnson was born in Laclede county Missouri. He lived in Webb City Missouri for 35 years. He came to Baxter Springs eleven years ago, where he has lived since with the exception of a few years that he lived in North Miami Oklahoma. He was a lead and zinc buyer in the mining field until six years ago. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eliza Johnson; one son Claude Johnson of Baxter Springs; two grand- daughters, Mrs. Edna Craig of Baxter Springs and Mrs. Lucille Smith of Wisconsin, and one grandson, Lee Edward Johnson of Baxter. Funeral services will be conducted at the home, 527 East Seventeenth Street, at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with the Rev. H. Ellis Ogden, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery in Joplin Missouri.
