Funeral services for Julian Franklin Johnson, 57 years old, Baxter Springs Kansas councilman and superintendent of the Lawyers Lead and Zinc Company, were held Sunday afternoon at the First Christian church in Baxter Springs. The Rev. Newell M. Hall, pastor, was in charge of the services, assisted by the Rev. Wallace I. McDonald, pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Burial was in the Granby Missouri cemetery, under the direction of the Harvey funeral home. A. F. & A. M. lodge No. 514, was in charge of rites at the grave. Members of the Baxter Springs city council, city employees, and members of the police and fire departments of Baxter Springs attended services in a body. Pallbearers were William Hight, Van Walters, Arthur Herd, A. F. Blunk, K. K. Staton and Avery Hale. Mr. Johnson died at 6:10 o'clock Saturday morning at Freeman hospital in Joplin Missouri following an illness of four weeks duration.
