Abstract Data

a 81 year old teamster, died Wednesday night after a highway accident east of Quapaw Oklahoma last Saturday in which Doyle Stevens drove his car into Johnson's wagon. Johnson was walking beside his wagon when struck by Stevens' car. Stevens said he swerved to avoid Earl Roy who was walking in the same direction as Johnson on the opposite side of the road. Roy, the only witness besides the two men involved in the accident, said that Stevens was going about 30 miles an hour when he struck the wagon. Stevens denied this saying he was going 10 miles an hour. The driver was bound over for trial, charged with manslaughter in killing the aged teamster...
