Hinkle, Bill

about 35 years old, of Treece Kansas, was severely beaten in an altercation Sunday near Treece, with a man reported to be Jack Brewer, also of Treece and who was said to have been under the influence of liquor. Hinkle was reported to have been struck several blows on the head with a hammer, afflicting deep cuts and bruises. He was taken to Picher Oklahoma hospital in a Durnil ambulance last night in order that x-ray pictures might be taken to definitely determine the extent of the injuries. Brewer was arrested shortly following the altercation and later released.
