age 75, a pioneer resident of Picher Oklahoma and Joplin Missouri was found dead in bed in his room at the Eagle-Picher clubhouse on West First Street in Picher at 8 o'clock at 8 o'clock this morning. Death was pronounced due to apoplexy. Mr Hinds was apparently in good health Friday and worked as usual. He apparently had been dead several hours when his death was discovered. Hinds was born at Calico Missouri, Oct 14, 1858. He had resided in the Tri-State district more than 30 years, having come to Picher in 1915 during the opening of the mining field. He served as Street commissioner in Joplin Missouri under Mayor Guy Humes. Mr. Hinds had been continuously employed by the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company as a compressor man since coming to Picher. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. order of Joplin. He is survived by a son, Larry Hinds of Picher, two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice James of Joplin and Mrs. Sylvia Stevens of Los Angeles; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Union church. The Rev. Wesley Post will officiate. Further services will be held in the afternoon in the Bayers Avenue Methodist church in Joplin with members of the Joplin IOOF in charge. Burial will be in the Forest Park cemetery under the direction of the Todd undertaking company.
