of Miami, died at 4:53 am Tuesday, Mar 30, 1999, at Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami. He was 70. He was born Feb 7, 1929, south of Miami to Burnett Higgins and Mollie Baldridge Higgins. He was a lifelong area resident. He had worked for Eagle-Picher Company, Burggraf Tire Company, and Pettet Mop Company, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Cherokee Indian Tribe and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Frost, Quapaw Oklahoma; a sister, Letha Felber, Waukomis; two brothers, Frank Higgins and Lincoln Higgins, both of Tulsa Oklahoma; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild. The service will be at 10 am, Saturday, Apr 3, 1999, at G.A.R. cemetery at Miami with Dr. Daryl S. Bates officiating. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Northeast Oklahoma Veterans Funeral Detail. The family will received friends from 7- 8 pm, Friday, at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Miami.
