Hicks, Rufus

died Jan 16, 1927, age 40, shortly after noon today at his home on North College Street, Picher Oklahoma. Death resulted after a lingering illness. Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lottie Hicks, and four children, Mildred Hicks, aged 5; Frances Hicks, 3; Melvin Hicks, 2, and Johnny Portwood, 15. Funeral services will be held at the family home at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The Rev. James Posey will officiate and burial will be in the Miami G.A.R. cemetery under the direction of the Green undertaking company.
