Funeral services were incomplete today for George Washington Herrin, 79 year old retired mining engineer who died in the Picher Oklahoma hospital at 8:10 pm Thursday. Herrin, who had lived on South Picher Street, moved to Picher about 13 years ago. He previously resided in Grove Oklahoma for 15 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Von Wedell of Columbus Kansas, Rt 4 and Mrs. Gladys Ross of San Francisco California; three brothers, Ethan Herrin and Charles Herrin of Neosho Missouri, and Wayne Herrin of Goodman Missouri; three sisters, Mrs. Effie Routh and Miss Rosa Herrin, both of Joplin Missouri, and Mrs. Josephine Mills of Kansas City Missouri; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body was received by the Roberson-Hunter funeral home.

Funeral services for George Washington Herrin, retired mining engineer who died Thursday at Picher, will be held at 2 pm Monday at the Oak Wood church, McElhaney Missouri. The Rev. Buel Buzzard will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Wood cemetery under the direction of the Robertson-Hunter funeral home, Picher. Nephews of the deceased will be pallbearers. The body will lie in state at the Picher mortuary until Monday morning.
