Last rites for Ed A. Heiskell, 84, of 626 B southeast, Miami, will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Cooper funeral home chapel with Dr. Russell Martin officiating. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery. Mr. Heiskell, who retired in 1960 after 58 years of work in area mines, had lived in Ottawa county Oklahoma for 80 years. He was a hoisterman employed by the Eagle-Picher Company at the time of his retirement. He died at 6:05 pm Sunday at a Vinita Oklahoma hospital after a month's illness. He was born Sep 13, 1885, at Bentonville Arkansas. Mr. Heiskell, who attended First Christian church in Miami, is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Heiskell, of the home; a son, George M. Heiskell, Phoenix Arizona; a daughter, Mrs. Fern Shindle, Tacoa Washington; two step-daughters, Mrs. Jerri Crow, Miami, and Mrs. Clara Murphy, Oakland California; a brother, King Heiskell, Pismo Beach California; a sister, Mrs. Betty Humbolt, Pittsburg Kansas; 10 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Charles Chesnut, Joe Breaune, Eddie Simpson, Cleo Wilson, Dewey Berry and Otis Smith.
