of Cardin Oklahoma, died Sunday, Mar 14, 1999, at St. John's Hospital in Joplin Missouri, after an extended illness. He was 93. He born Jun 5, 1905, at Joplin to Sam Heatherly and Mina Brown Heatherly. He moved to Cardin in 1919. He married Faye Opal Jones on Dec 22, 1926, at Columbus Kansas. She preceded him in death on Friday, Mar 12, 1999. He and his wife were married for 73 years and had lived in Cardin their entire lives. He worked for the Kansas Exploration Mining Company and Landis Steel of Picher until his retirement. Survivors include two brothers, Roy A. Heatherly, Commerce Oklahoma, and Ray Paul Heatherly, Quapaw Oklahoma; two sons Elmer Heatherly, Seattle Washington, and Jim Heatherly, Phoenix Arizona; four grandchildren, Ricco Heatherly, Mike Heatherly, Terri Powers, and Debbie Jones; and eight great-grandchildren. The service will be at 10 am Wednesday, Mar 17, 1999, at the funeral home with the Rev. Leslie Couch and the Rev. Clyde Stilley officiating. Burial will be at the G.A.R. cemetery in Miami. Pallbearers will be Mike Heatherly, Ricco Heatherly, Gene Jones, Larry Powers, Bruley Grimes, and Bill Parkison. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Olds, Buddy Kerley, and Richard Heatherly. Arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas funeral home in Miami. There is a photo of both Mr. and Mrs. Heatherly on this page.
