Abstract Data

Roy Harris has started ground activity at the old Plymouth Mine, formerly of the Consolidated Mining Company, which will be known as the Baxter Mine of the Baxter Mining and Developing Company. Harris is driving drifts at the 200 foot level to meet ore runs developed by churn drilling conducted by the Baxter company. The company expects to be under production this week. The dirt will be milled by the United Zinc and Smelting Company at the Royal Mill, southeast of Picher. Ellis Marryman of Picher is ground boss. Only 12 men are being worked at the present time; however, as the development program advances the crew will be increased.

Roy "Handsome" Harris, attired in light colored khaki shirt and trousers and wearing a light felt hat, stands out on the picture like a million dollars as he proudly supports the first aid kit bearing the picture of old "Safety Pete." It's picture taking time again, and we find that Roy Harris' crew over at the Silver Fox Mine of the Ace High Mining Company is one of the happiest looking groups we have seen. They all have the appearance of having dined on ham and eggs that morning and are sure there's a half pie in their lunch bucket.
