Eugene Vance Harris, a long time resident of Commerce, died Tuesday at Bradshaw Osteopathic hospital in Miami, where he had been a patient since Sunday. A native of Galena Kansas, he had resided at Commerce most of the past 40 years. Mr. Harris, 65, a former miner and retired aircraft worker, was a member of the First Christian church and the Quarterback Club of Commerce. He had managed a Little League baseball team there before becoming ill. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Harris, of the home at 503 North Vine; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Cole of Commerce, Mrs. Louise O'Brien, Independence Missouri, and Miss Jean Harris, of the home; two sons, Edward Harris, Sunray Texas and Monty Harris, Wichita Kansas, and 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chester Moore, Junior Geren, Jack Meier, Ace Moreland, Clifford Simmons.
