Funeral services for C. R. Harris, more familiarly known as 'Daddy' Harris who died shortly before 12 o'clock Saturday night were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Picher Oklahoma Baptist church. The Rev. Billie Bain officiated. Burial was in the Baxter Springs Kansas cemetery. Active pallbearers were W. A. Windham, William Breedlove, Roy Hill, Jack Davis, Charles Nichols and Mr. Kates; honorary pallbearers were Guy Forbes, Cy Eubanks, Joe Nolan, J. R. Luther, Orvia Black and Mr. McCarthney. Mr. Harris, who was 64 years old, was well known in Picher, having resided here for 11 years and in the vicinity of Quapaw Oklahoma and Picher for more than 25 years. He was a well known miner of the district. He was an active worker in the Baptist church and a member of the Security Benefit Association. Three sons, Pete Harris, Lou Harris and Paul Harris, have died within the last two years. Two other sons, Roy Harris and Temple Harris are at home; his wife, Mrs. Ellen Harris at home; two sisters, Mrs. C. F. Lybarger of Tahlequah Oklahoma and Mrs. Emma Welch of Kansas City and several grandchildren survive. For several years, Mr. Harris had acted as watchman at the Eagle-Picher Mine No. 5, where he was employed until he took ill several weeks ago.
