Adam C. 'Neil' Harr - Funeral services for Adam C. 'Neil' Harr, 62 years old, former Ottawa county sheriff, who died early Saturday at Baxter Springs Kansas, will be held at 2 pm this afternoon at the First Presbyterian church. He died at the home of his sister, Mrs. J. W. Barnes, following an illness of several months. Mr. Harr was staying with the sister because his wife has been ill at the family home during the same period. He had lived at 15 B Street southeast. Born at Bristol Virginia, in 1873, Mr. Harr came to Oklahoma as a young man. He had been a resident of this state since 1901. For many years he was connected with the mining industry as a hoisting engineer. In 1919 he was elected sheriff of Ottawa county, and was successful two years later in his race for re-election. For the last seven years he had operated a gasoline station on South Main Street. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Matilene Mayden, and one grandson, Jimmy Mayden, all of Miami; four brothers, Robert Harr, Lloyd Harr of Kansas City, and W. C. Harr and Clint Harr, both of Sacramento California and three sisters, Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Leslie Riley of Brunswick Missouri, and Mrs. Iva Coster of Sacramento. The Rev. H. E. Gatti will conduct funeral services. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery, Miami Oklahoma, under direction of the Cooper undertaking company. Pallbearers will be Dave Cotten, Walter Miller, Sam Sullivan, Billy Moore, Q. P. McGhee and A. L. Doty. Honorary pallbearers will be U.S. Jennings, Eli Dry, John Connolly, S. C. Fullerton, Ed Ballard and Cal Baker.
