M. D. Harbaugh, secretary of the Tri-State Zinc and Lead Producers association, returned Wednesday from Kansas City to which place he was called by the birth of a daughter, Monday morning. The new arrival has been named Sylvia Prettyman Harbaugh.

M. D. Harbaugh - Funeral services were held at Christ's Episcopal church in nearby Hudson Saturday afternoon for M. D. Harbaugh, former resident of Miami. Harbaugh, 59 years old, died of a heart attack last Wednesday at his home on Aurora road in Hudson. President of the Lake Superior Iron Ore association, Harbaugh was secretary of the Tri-State Zinc and Lead Ore Producers association at Picher Oklahoma, for eight years, ending in 1936 when he became vice- president and secretary of the iron ore organization with offices in Cleveland. Harbaugh was born May 18, 1892, at Kansas City Missouri. His father was a grocery store owner. The iron ore official was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. He became an instructor in geology at that institution for four years following his graduation. He engaged in private consulting engineering and geological practice before accepting the position with lead and zinc operators at Picher. On May 31, 1924, in Madison Wisconsin, he married Marjorie Bangs Warvelle, who was taking graduate work at the University of Wisconsin at the same time as her husband. Miss Warvelle was the daughter of a well-known Chicago lawyer, who was a professor of law for 50 years in several Chicago law schools, having organized and serving as dean of the Chicago School of Law for many years. Warvelle was also author of many legal textbooks. The Harbaughs have lived in Hudson Ohio, since coming to Cleveland in 1936. In Hudson, Harbaugh was a member of the Hudson Library and Historical society, member of the board of public affairs and of Christ's Episcopal church. He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Harriet Harbaugh of New York City and Mrs. Lucille Noland of Kansas City Missouri; and five children, John W. Harbaugh, who is geologist for the Carter Oil company in Shreveport Louisiana; Daniel W. Harbaugh who is designer at Goodyear aircraft in Akron Ohio; Philip W. Harbaugh, who is a senior at Kent State university; Marjorie B. Harbaugh, who is a senior at Denison university, Granville Ohio, and Sylvia P. Harbaugh, who is a sophomore in Hudson high school.
